npack.
Common questions, fixes, and how to reach a human.
Three ways:
Export an OPML file from your current app (Overcast, Pocket Casts, Castro, and Apple Podcasts all support this), then in Unpack go to Settings → Import OPML and select the file. All your subscriptions come over instantly.
The 14-day trial starts when you decline the paywall during onboarding — this is intentional. You get full Premium features (unlimited lookups, AirPods gesture, vocabulary tracking, spaced repetition) for 14 days with no payment up front. Two days before it ends we'll remind you in case you want to continue.
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. Open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone, tap Unpack, and choose Cancel. You keep Premium access until the end of the current billing period.
In Unpack, go to Settings → Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID that made the original purchase.
Free gets you the full podcast player, Siri-triggered definitions, and 10 lookups per day. Definition quality is identical to Premium — we don't gate the AI.
Premium adds unlimited lookups, the AirPods head gesture, your personal glossary and vocabulary tracking, spaced-repetition quizzes, comprehension quizzes, proactive highlighting of unfamiliar terms, weekly digests, and offline definition packs.
If it's an Apple Podcasts, Overcast, Castro, or Spotify link, paste the URL directly into the search field — Unpack resolves them. If you have the original RSS feed URL, that always works. If neither works, email us the URL and we'll add support.
This shouldn't happen — Unpack sends the surrounding transcript so Claude knows the context. If you hit a definition that's clearly off, tap the report button on the definition card so we can investigate.
Not every podcast publishes transcripts. Unpack reads the podcast:transcript tag from RSS. If the show doesn't include one, transcript-based features (highlighting, term tap-to-define) won't be available for that episode. Siri-triggered lookup still works because we transcribe the surrounding audio on demand.
Unpack stores your vocabulary on-device for privacy reasons (we never see it). Cloud sync via iCloud is on the post-launch roadmap. For now, if you need to keep your glossary across devices or reinstalls, please contact us.
Read our full privacy policy. The short version: we don't sell your data, your podcasts and glossary stay on your device, and definition lookups go through our proxy without identifying you.
We answer every email. Usually within a day.
