Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Unpack ("we", "us") governing your use of the Unpack iOS app and related services. By downloading or using Unpack, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

The short version.

Unpack is a podcast player with context-aware definitions. Use it lawfully and for personal, non-commercial purposes.
Premium is sold as an auto-renewing subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. Renewals are billed through your Apple ID and you can cancel any time in your iOS Settings.
We provide the app "as is" and are not liable for the accuracy of AI-generated definitions or third-party podcast content.

Using Unpack

You may use Unpack only for your own personal, non-commercial use and in compliance with all applicable laws. You agree not to misuse the service, including by attempting to reverse-engineer it, overload our infrastructure, resell access, or use it to infringe anyone's rights. Podcast content played in Unpack belongs to its respective publishers; Unpack does not own or control that content.

Subscriptions, billing, and auto-renewal

Unpack offers a free tier and an optional Unpack Premium upgrade. Premium is available as:

Monthly auto-renewing subscription — $4.99 / month
Annual auto-renewing subscription — $24.99 / year
Lifetime — $79.99 one-time purchase (not a subscription)

Prices are shown in your local currency on the paywall before you purchase and may vary by region. The subscription title, length, and price are displayed in the app's purchase screen prior to confirmation.

Auto-renewing subscriptions work as follows:

Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
The subscription automatically renews at the then-current price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
You can manage or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renewal, in your device's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions at any time.
If a free trial is offered, any unused portion of the trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Purchases are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple's standard terms for media services. Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies; we do not process refunds directly.

AI-generated content

Definitions, highlights, and quizzes in Unpack are generated by on-device and cloud AI models. They are provided for educational convenience and may occasionally be incomplete or incorrect. You should not rely on them as professional, legal, medical, or financial advice. You control whether cloud AI is used in Settings → Privacy.

Your content and privacy

Your podcast subscriptions, glossary, and listening history stay on your device. Our handling of data is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Unpack is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Termination

You may stop using Unpack at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or misuse the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as disclaimers and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app before the change takes effect. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
